University of Gloucestershire

The University of Gloucestershire has a distinguished track record in promoting sustainability thinking and practice.

It was the recipient of a Green Gown Award for ‘Continuous Improvement’ (2008) and was ranked No.1 in the People and Planet Sustainability League of Universities.

Our two campuses in Luton and Bedford are in ideal locations just 30 to 40 minutes from central London by train, benefiting from lower living costs compared to central London. The university has a reputation for its very high quality of teaching, and in 2003 and 2004 we were judged to be the top new university in England for teaching quality. The University of Bedfordshire is the largest provider of undergraduate and postgraduate education in Bedfordshire with 17,000 students across all its sites. The University is undergoing a major expansion and development and by 2007 will have completed a £45 million investment in the two campuses. The Luton campus has recently enjoyed a multi-million pound investment with a further £25 million to come. Facilities include a £5.5 million Media Arts Centre and £8.2 million Learning Resources Centre.

The university is not based on a campus, but most of the building are very close together and based about a mile outside of the Sheffield city centre. Sheffield offers everything you would expect from a city, including numerous bars, restaurants, theatres, cinemas, art galleries and music venues. On top of all this, Sheffield is one of the cheapest cities in the UK and so you can live and study at the university for far less money than many other UK city universities.

City University is a medium size British University with a friendly and open atmosphere; it has a great Student Union and a helpful buddy scheme.
City University is very close to the West End of London boasting extremely lively nightlife, with a good number of student friendly priced bars and nightclubs.

Imperial College of Science, Technoloy and Medicine

Imperial College London (officially The Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine as titled in its Royal Charter) is a British university in London specializing in science, engineering, medicine and business.


Imperial is regularly placed in the top three in the Times National University League Table along with Oxford and Cambridge. Imperial was placed 5th overall in the world in the 2008 THES - QS World University Rankings of universities worldwide, and 27th in the world by the Shanghai Jiao Tong Academic Ranking of World Universities.

Imperial's main campus is located in South Kensington in central London, on the boundary between the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and the City of Westminster, with its front entrance on Exhibition Road. Formerly a constituent college of the University of London, Imperial became independent of the university on 8 July 2007, the 100th anniversary of its founding.
